You cannot live in Pakistan and never eat a paratha. Paratha is a more than just food, it is a tradition. I remember waking up in the morning for my first day of school and asking my mom, 'What's for breakfast?".She replied, "Paratha."

Paratha is a traditional breakfast in almost every Pakistani household. They originated in a city called Peshawar in Pakistan, which used to be a part of India. There is evidence of existence of paratha before the 12th century. It spread all over the Indian sub-continent.

I have ate paratha most mornings of my entire life, even for lunch and dinner sometimes. It can be thick and soft or thin and crunchy, sometimes a little burnt. It tastes great with almost anything, from mango pickles to sugar or even just hot milk tea. Paratha can also be made with a filling between two layers. Regardless of how you eat it, it tastes like cozy mornings at home.
