Butter Me UP!!!

Let's pay it forward...Why not whip one of these up for a front-line worker??

Your local doctor, nurse, pharmacist, mail carrier, supermarket employee...a lonely neighbor? Giving to others will reshift our focus from our everyday circumstances.


Here are a variety of ways, you can spruce up your bread, fish, meats, and vegetables with these flavored butters!!


NOTE: 1 stick of butter is 1/2 cup butter. For this recipe, you would need 4 sticks of butter.

OPTION #1: BASIL BUTTER

1 pound (2 cups) unsalted butter

1 cup chopped fresh basil

Pinch of salt

OPTION #2: HONEY-WALNUT BUTTER

1 pound (2 cups) unsalted butter

1/2 cup honey

1/4 tsp. cinnamon

1/4 cup walnuts

Directions for Option #1 and #2:

1. Place butter amount in a bowl and let softened.

2. Blend ingredients with a food processor or blender by using the pulse option.

3. Store in an air tight container.


TIP: Flavored butter keeps in an air tight container for 2-3 weeks and in the freezer for 2-3 months. Enoy!
